Answering the Call

Senator Rick Santorum, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity have all answered the call to rally around Mitt Romney. Less-responsible conservatives are still in fantasy land.
Don’t take my word for it that Mitt’s the clear conservative choice. Take Santorum’s:

In a few short days, Republicans from across this country will decide more than their party’s nominee. They will decide the very future of our party and the conservative coalition that Ronald Reagan built. Conservatives can no longer afford to stand on the sidelines in this election, and Governor Romney is the candidate who will stand up for the conservative principles that we hold dear. Governor Romney has a deep understanding of the important issues confronting our country today, and he is the clear conservative candidate that can go into the general election with a united Republican party.

  1. And you wonder why FredHeads won’t vote for Romney when you call them less responsible. My vote, my choice because Romney is no conservative yet and whether you like it or not many others feel the same way.Perhaps it’s those playing by the same playbook of choosing the lesser of two evils are being less responsible.

  2. You are irresponsible – deeply irresponsible. Your own candidate has thrown in the towel, which is about the only thing he’s done that you haven’t taken as gospel.I call you what you are because, time after time, I put forth the evidence for Thompson’s dishonesty, hypocrisy, and less-than conservative status, which AT BEST shows him in the same boat as Mitt. Yet you stubbornly, hypocritically keep proclaiming the infallibility of this golden idol you’ve built Fred into – all while declining to defend him on the merits, of course. The other factor is, of course, that I absolutely reject the notion that Mitt is “the lesser of two evils” – for reasons I’ve detailed at length throughout the entire course of this campaign. And sorry, but the judgment of the serious conservatives I’ve been citing is just a bit more meaningful than yours.I’m going to keep trying to do the right thing – in spite of the Cult of Fred.

  3. <>which is about the only thing he’s done that you haven’t taken as gospel.<>It’s highly ironic that you chastise others for taking others’ words and actions as “gospel” and then proclaim Rush’s word as gospel a couple of posts later. In fact your entire ideology is gospel to you, is it not?

  4. What are you smoking? I fully embrace the conservative philosophy, and I make no apologies for that. But that has never inhibited my objectivity – and I’ll gladly hold my record as evidence of that.Is Rush’s word “gospel?” Of course not. But his opinion is and ought to be respected by conservatives, and I happen to think his view of the candidates is worth noting.
